Muhammad ibn Ali (RA), the son of Imam Zayn al-Abidin (RA), relates:
“My father advised me with a testament, saying: ‘Never associate with five types of people:'”
- The Transgressor (Open Sinner):
He will not hesitate to sell you out for a morsel of food, or even less than that. - The Miser:
He will abandon you when you are in dire need of his wealth or assistance, withholding even what is essential to you. - The Liar:
He acts like a mirage—he makes distant things appear close to you and makes near things seem far away. - The Fool:
He intends to benefit you, but his actions end up harming you instead. - The One Who Severs Ties of Kinship:
He cuts family ties and brings distress to his relatives; I have found him cursed in three places in the Book of Allah.
