Missing Kiss
Once, a man came to the Persian scholar Mullah Nasruddin (Rah) and asked,
“Hazrat, I am newly married. If I kiss my wife in the morning while leaving for work while fasting, is it a sin?”
Mullah replied, “No.”
The man asked, “What if I kiss her when I return home in the afternoon?”
Mullah replied, “That is not a problem either!”
The man asked again, “And when I head back to work again?”
Instantly, Mullah lost his temper and said, “Is she the Hajr al-Aswad (the Holy Black Stone) to be kissed at every lap?!”
Saying so, he picked up a stick to beat him and chased him away.
Nothing is lacking
Once, a man came to Al-Sha’bi (Rah) and asked, “I married a woman, but she has a limp. Can I divorce her?”
Al-Sha’bi (Rahmatullah Alaih) replied:
“If you intend to race with her, then divorce her. If not, then live your life with her!”
Iblis’s wife
Once, a man came to Al-Sha’bi (Rah) and asked, “What is the name of Iblis’s (Satan’s) wife?”
Al-Sha’bi (Rah) replied:
“Well, I didn’t exactly attend that wedding! (Therefore, I do not know her name.)”
