Allah says in the Quran:
وَآتَىالْمَالَعَلَىٰحُبِّهِذَوِيالْقُرْبَىٰوَالْيَتَامَىٰوَالْمَسَاكِينَ
“…and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy…”
— Surah Al-Baqarah: 177
The Companion Ubayd ibn Umayr (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
On the plains of Mahshar (the Day of Gathering), people will stand intensely hungry, severely thirsty, and completely unclothed. However, whoever fed others for the sake of Allah, Allah will nourish them with drink. Whoever clothed others for the sake of Allah, Allah will clothe them.
Those who perform acts of kindness seeking only Allah’s pleasure will receive their full reward in the Hereafter.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) stated that on the Day of Resurrection, every individual will be in the shade of their own charity.
In every help we extend to others in this world, the intention to attain Allah’s pleasure must remain supreme. Allah’s promises apply solely to those with Ikhlas (sincerity of heart). If good deeds are done merely to earn the praise of people, the only return gained will be that worldly praise—leaving nothing of value in the Hereafter.
Charity does not decrease wealth.
