The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “There are two qualities or actions. Whosoever among the believers guards them will surely enter Paradise. Both of them are easy, yet those who act upon them are very few.”
After Every Obligatory Prayer:
Recite “Subhanallah” (Glory be to Allah) ten times, “Alhamdulillah” (Praise be to Allah) ten times, and “Allahu Akbar” (Allah is the Greatest) ten times. By reciting these after the 5 daily prayers, it totals 150 times on the tongue, but on the Mizan (the Scale of deeds), it equals 1,500 good deeds (as every good deed is multiplied tenfold).
When Going to Bed: Recite “Subhanallah” 33 times, “Alhamdulillah” 33 times, and “Allahu Akbar” 34 times. This totals 100 times on the tongue, but on the Mizan, it equals 1,000 good deeds.
Upon hearing this, the Companions (Sahaba) asked, “O Messenger of Allah! Why is it that these two actions are easy, yet those who practice them are few?”
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, “Satan comes to a person while he is praying and reminds him of this and that chore, saying, ‘Remember this, remember that,’ until the person finishes his prayer and rushes away without reciting them. Similarly, when a person goes to bed, Satan comes and lulls him to sleep before he can complete the recitation.”
