Hadhrat Ibn Umar (RadiAllahu Anhu) narrates:

There was a wealthy man among the Bani Israel (Children of Israel) who lived in the past. A widow came to him seeking financial assistance. The wealthy man agreed to give her the sixty dinars she requested, but in return, he demanded that she commit adultery with him. Caught in the severe grip of poverty and having no other alternative, the woman reluctantly agreed.

When he sat upon her thighs to commit that heinous act, the woman suddenly trembled in shock and burst into tears, weeping bitterly. The wealthy man asked her, “Why are you crying?”

She replied, “I have never committed such a disgraceful act in my entire life before this. It is only my desperate circumstances that have forced me to agree to this!” and continued to weep.

Hearing this, he was deeply shaken and realized his grave mistake. He immediately got up and said, “Never agree to such a disgraceful act again. Take those dinars; they are yours!” Then, with a genuinely repentant heart, he swore an oath, saying, “By Allah! I will never disobey my Lord at any moment in my life ever again!”

That very night, he passed away.

The next day, everyone who passed by the entrance of his house looked at it in absolute amazement and spoke amongst themselves. The reason for their astonishment was that upon the door of his house, it was written: “Allah has forgiven him!”

Hadhrat Ibn Umar (RadiAllahu Anhu) states: “I heard the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) narrate this incident not just once or twice, but more than seven times.”
